Configuring EP for connecting to CRM System Using a IView

Connection to CRM system is similar to that of connection to R/3 or for the matter BW, which have been mentioned in earlier wikis. Just incase you are looking for CRM System connection then follow the below process.

Note: You will be needing Portal Super Admin Role to create a connection to CRM system and also need to have acess or atleast the details of CRM server to create system.

1)      Go to System Administration 

2)      Go to System Configuration

3)      Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder.

4)      Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "System (from Template)".

Configuring EP for connecting to BW

The following steps are needed to configure EP for connecting to BW

1. Creating System Object
2. Creating Folder, Role, Workset, Page and iview
3. Attaching iview to page, page to workset, workset to Role
4. Assigning Role to the User

In the Enterprise portal you have to create the system object for connecting to BW system.
Log on to Enterprise Portal using Fully qualified domain name using system admin id.

1. Creating System Object
   • Go to system Administration --> system configuration --> system landscape.
   • Expand the folder portal_content. Right click on the portal_content folder and choose new --> system. Select the template which matches with your BW system and choose save.

Purpose:

This document will outline where to obtain each parameter for the Connector definition in the portal system object. This document refers to the system object of type 'SAP system with load balancing'. This is the most common system template used for portal connectivity to the backend.
Note: While some connector properties such as SID and Client are relevant for all types of integration with the backend, the Connector Test for Connectors is only relevant for JCO/RFC connections. This test is not relevant for application integration scenarios - i.e. integration of BW Reports, BSPs, IACs, Transactions using SAP GUI for Windows or SAP GUI for HTML, WebDynpro for Java or WebDynpro for ABAP.

Overview:

To integrate backend content into the Enterprise Portal, a System Object needs to be created in the Portal System Landscape. The connector properties of the system object, enables connection via RFC/JCO calls to the backend system. This connection type is primarily used in connecting the UWL to a workflow system. It is also used to connect the Portal to non-SAP systems.
