Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !

if you get this error while deploying any WD application in to J2EE engine, Please chek the following things.

1) SDM is UP and running.

2) You have to enter the correct Message server host and Message server port under the following path in NWDS.

NWDS > Window -> Prefrences -> SAP J2EE engine -> 

Here Enter the values of Message Server Host and Message Server Port ( Not SDM Port number 5xxx18 )

How to get Message server Port Number:

Message Server Port can be: 

3600 + system Number  (or) 3900 + system number

For example: if system number is 01 then 3600 + 01 = 3601

or else you can get the message server port number from the following url

http://<hostname>:<port number>/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo

And check the Port number on the Message Server section (on the left and the top).
