Create new Trace Location in NW 7.1 and higher

Purpose

• Trace location describing messages that originate from delimited source code areas such as components, packages, classes, and methods. It is used to emit trace messages.
• You want to have trace information output into defaultTrace base on specific location which is not exist by default.

Precedure

1. Open the Configtool and navigate to the “Root Location” location under template -> log configuration -> locations




2. Click the “New” button

3. In the pop-up window type the name of the location you want to create. Click “OK”.



4. You may change the severity by drilling down to the location you just created. Then change its severity , save the changes and restart the cluster.

5. You can now reproduce the problem and get the traces you need output into defaultTrace.
