Web Dynpro Page vs Default Page Template.
Default Page Template:
Create a HTML table that defines the layout: 3 rows, 15 columns, etc.
You can place all type of iViews on it.
Web Dynpro Proxy Page:
Desinged for WebDynpro Java applications that are deployed on the same server as the portal.
The Proxy part means that the portal is preloading the WDJ applications and delivers them as one page.
In the Default Page Template these applications would be integrated via iFrames (1 for every WDJ application).
