Resolution
There are 2 ways to do this configuration. The first way is deployment. For details, please check KBA 1907215. The second way is to replace favicon.ico image file directly in File System as mentioned below:
  1. Access file system path \usr\sap\<SID>\<xx>\j2ee\cluster\server<x>\apps\sap.com\com.sap.engine.docs.examples\servlet_jsp\_default\root
  2. Back up original favicon.ico file, such as rename to back_favicon.ico
  3. Prepare a favicon.ico image which you want to use, and place it in above path

    6.   Change windows folder display settings and make sure you select option 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives' and not select option 'Hide protected operating system files(Recommended)'. Then go to path <driver>:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files (this path is for IE8 on Windows7 platform, If you are using other IE version or other browser type, please find right path to delete these files) and delete all existing files for J2EE Engine server

  • If you have multiple instances, please do this configuration for each instance.
  • If you have multiple server<x> nodes for each instance, please do this configuration for each server<x> node.
