Portal Activity Report Iview in SAP EP 7.3

Configuring the Activity Report Service

You should have permissions to access SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

  1. Go to SAP NetWeaver Administrator and access com.sap.portal.activityreport.core

  2. The service is turned off by default in EP 7.3. To turn it on, set the following property to true (the property is not case sensitive):

Activate portal activity report
Starts and stops the data collection service.
Enter true or false(default).

To do the above :

Go to NWA > Configurations > Infrastructure > Application Modules > Over view.

( Accessing NWA :    http://<host name>:<port number>/nwa )

Under Overview search for access com.sap.portal.activityreport.core as shown in the following image.

After searching and Selecting access com.sap.portal.activityreport.core.
 Under Web Modules details > Components > Select Activity Report.

Then Under Portal Service Details.
Select Activate Portal activity report and make its value to True.
(by default in EP 7.3 its values is False).

  1. Configure the data collection service by setting the following additional properties (properties are not case sensitive):
    Setting
    Description
    First day of the week
    Sets the first day of the week for weekly reports.
    The default is Monday.
    Gather iView statistics
    Enables and disables the gathering of activity information about iViews.
    Enter true (default) or false.
    Gather page statistics
    Enables and disables the gathering of activity information about pages.
    Enter true (default) or false.
    Gather statistics about remote users of local content (global portal)
    If you have implemented a federated portal network (see Implementing a Federated Portal Network), your portal (producer) gathers activity data for remote users from other consumer portals.
    This property is not functional. You cannot disable the data gathering of remote users, even if set to false.
    Number of days for daily data retention
    Specifies, in days, how long to retain daily statistics.
    The default is 90 days.
    Number of days for hourly data retention
    Specifies, in days, how long to retain hourly statistics.
    The default is 30 days.
    Number of days for monthly data retention
    Specifies, in days, how long to retain monthly statistics.
    The default is 730 days.
    Number of days for quarterly data retention
    Specifies, in days, how long to retain quarterly statistics.
    The default is 1460 days.
    Number of days for weekly data retention
    Specifies, in days, how long to retain weekly statistics.
    The default is 365 days.
    Save interval (minutes)
    Specifies, in minutes, how often activity data is collected as raw data. A shorter period uses less memory but requires more-frequent resource-intensive save operations.
    The default is 60 minutes. It is recommended to maintain the default setting.
  2. Save your settings from the Web Modules Details pane in SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
    You can restore the default settings from the Portal Service Details.

    You must restart the service for the changes to take effect.
