EP7.3 - Types of transports using CTS

Overview :

Different types of portal transports using CTS were described in this.
Version : EP7.3 , NWDI 7.3 , ECC 6.0 EHP5 as CTS.

Prerequisites :

1. CTS Configuration should be done as per http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/EP7.3+-+CTS+Plus+configuration.
2. User should have sufficient authorizations in Portal and CTS system as well.

Technical Details :

1. Transport Portal Objects from transport package :
Navigate to System Administration -> Transport -> Transport Packages ->  Export -> Portal Content . Right click on the specific folder under which transport package needed and Choose New -> Transport Package.


Or
Navigate to Content Administration -> Portal Content Management -> Portal Content . Right click on the specific folder under which transport package needed and Choose New -> Transport Package.

It open wizard like below.Give Object Name and Object ID details.Choose Next and Finish.

Open the created transported package and add the objects which need transport.

Choose Next and choose Export.


In the Transport Method ,select CTS and check the automatically created transport request number from CTS.Choose Next and choose Export and Finish.

The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.
2.  Transport Portal change lists from transport package :     
Change Recording should be configured in EP7.3 to get change lists as per the wiki http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/EP7.3+Change+Recording+Configuration.
Navigate to Content Administration -> Portal Content Management ->  My Open Change Lists . Observe the changlist which contain the changed activities for the pcd folders which were configured for automatic change recording.
Open the changelist in Change Organizer as shown below.

Observe the change list in Change Organizer , Choose Activate , Rename the changelist name to simple terms and choose Activate and Release.

check the automatically created transport request number from CTS.Choose Release and Monitor.

The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.
3.  Transport of KM Configuration Data :
Open the KM Configuration view from System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management .Choose Actions -> Export -> Start which create Export Package.
Choose Actions -> Export ->Add -> Complete Configuration or Topic Areas which need to be transported , choose defaults and click OK.They were added to export package now
Choose Export -> Create Transport Package for CTS as shown below.


Choose Start Export to CTS which shows message that transport package has been transmitted successfully.The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.
4. Transport of KM Documents:
Navigated to Content Administration -> KM Content -> Export -> Export Templates . Choose New Transport Package.Give Name and attach the KM documents to it which need to be transported as shown below.Choose Save.

Open the context menu of the created Export Template and Choose Use Template. Observe automatically created transport request number from CTS and choose Start Export.The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.

5. Transport of Java developments from NWDI - CMS using CTS:
CMS Track should be configured with CTS Upload system as shown below from CMS Landscape Configurator.

When Developer release activity from NWDS , It goes to Consolidation tab of the track. Import it under Consolidation tab which then move to Assembly tab. Select the component and choose Assemble Components which generated Transport request automatically from CTS system as shown below.

Choose Assemble and Attach.It display success message that Software Component Archives successfully attached to CTS transport request xxxxx.The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.
6. Transport of Java developments from NWDI - CMServices:
6.1 Release source code activity from Transport View of NWDS which generated Transport request automatically from CTS system as shown below.The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.

6.2 CM Services - Export Service ( SCA Transport).
Open DI Export Service from NWA as shown below.

Select File as CTS system and choose Next.

Choose Export Mode as SCA Export.

Choose the software component and then click Next.

Keep defaults and choose Next.

Observe generated Transport request automatically from CTS system as shown below.

Choose Next and Observe Summary of Export.The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.
6.3 CM Services - Export Service ( SDA Transport).
Do the same steps as 6.2 CM Services - Export Service ( SCA Transport) except during the selection mode of export as shown below and observe CTS transport request from transport organizer.

7.  Transport Software Components/Products from SLD.
Open SLD using the url http://host:port/sld. Navigate to Home -> Software Catalog -> Products / Software Components .Search for Software Component and choose Export.
Observe generated Transport request automatically from CTS system as shown below. Choose Attach Exported Data.

The CTS Transport request can be observed from CTS Transport organizer and can be imported from back-end CTS system after releasing.
8. Observe the transport requests from transport organizer as shown below.
